Hermann Müller digitizes logistics

Hermann Müller Elektrogrosshandel GmbH, a medium-sized electrical wholesaler from Weingarten, has decided within the scope of a modernisation project, to use S&P Computersysteme GmbH and the warehouse management system (WMS) SuPCIS-L8.

In the course of the modernization of their warehouse logistics in Weingarten, Hermann Müller will focus on the implementation of SuPCIS-L8 and the integration of the automated small parts warehouse AutoStore® from AM-Automation GmbH, with the planned commissioning in the first half of 2021. The control of AutoStore® in the overall process, is done by the warehouse management software from S&P.

The warehouse management system SuPCIS-L8, connected to the ERP SHCware from SHComputersysteme GmbH, will control and optimize the entire logistics processes in the existing warehouse - from goods receipt to picking and shipping. After the successful interaction between SuPCIS-L8 and SHCware has already been demonstrated in previous projects, the two software packages will, in the future, also represent a successful overall solution for the company.

The flexibility, customizability and available interfaces of SuPCIS-L8 also offer the possibility to connect AutoStore® directly to the WMS. This direct connection not only enables smooth interaction between the two systems, but also brings enormous advantages for the electrical wholesaler Hermann Müller. Since the warehouse management system SuPCIS-L8 can be connected to the AutoStore® automated small parts warehouse without any middleware at all, warehouse employees can also use the workstation dialogs at the small parts warehouse, including the cockpit and dashboards, in the uniform interface of the WMS. The number of subsystems required is also reduced.  „The combination of new warehouse technology and the warehouse management system SuPCIS-L8 increases our capacities significantly and will ensure previously unattained service levels through the new storage and retrieval strategies and the consistent use of data as a basis for decision-making. This will enable us to optimally implement our logistics strategy at Hermann Müller and serve our customers even better“, says Uwe Holder, Managing Director of Hermann Müller Elektrogrosshandel GmbH.

„We are pleased about the shown confidence of the Hermann Mülller Elektrogrosshandel GmbH and on the next steps in the common project“, connects Rémy El Abd, Managing Director of S&P Computersysteme GmbH to it.
