Although picking of goods in modern logistics centres very often takes place without a paper document, they are still printed for identification of the goods in goods receipt, after picking, or for example for the shipping container (SSCC) during shipping.
Since printing is generally integrated directly into the business process – and therefore has an influence on performance – it must happen quickly. We therefore recommend thermal printers, or for the best quality if labels will be required for a longer time, thermal transfer printers.
Printing can also be done on a mobile basis. The "printer at the goods" or "print on the forklift" principle can very often achieve extremely rapid ROI.
